Our Story
We started Chrisoula's Cheesecake Shoppe in 2007 with a passion for baking delicious cheesecakes that bring smiles and people together. Every single cheesecake is made from scratch in small batches with love, care, and only the freshest, finest ingredients.
Chrisoula is a Pensacola native with deep Greek heritage. She grew up in her family's local Pensacola restaurants—The Angus Steak Ranch, Boy On A Dolphin, and Cafe 22—starting her hospitality career as a young hostess at the Boy. She always loved making desserts and traditional Greek pastries, but the real spark happened in 2003 when her husband, Tony, requested a homemade chocolate chip cheesecake with fresh strawberries for his birthday. He loved it so much that Chrisoula began baking them for family holidays and special occasions.
By 2005, she was baking cheesecakes for her family's downtown restaurant, Cafe 22, and they instantly became a local hit. In April 2007, Chrisoula and Tony opened their first storefront on Cervantes near Scenic Highway. Since November 2014, they have been serving the community from their current downtown Pensacola location. Recognizing the business's incredible growth, Tony left his 19-year corporate management career with Grainger Industrial Supply to co-own and manage the shoppe full-time.
Chrisoula’s connection to the craft goes back centuries: historical writings note that the very first cheesecakes were created on the Greek island of Samos—the exact island her father is from! She takes immense pride in honoring that history by creating the finest cheesecakes, just as they should be.
